Welcome to sDotson.com. Let me first state that I hope you have found this site to be of use and interest.
I have been involved with the Inventor community since the beta release of R1. I was lucky enough to obtain a pre-release copy for evaluation and I was immediately impressed. Having been working in Mechanical Desktop (and before that AutoCAD solids) I was surprised at the ease of use and the intuitive interface.
From the beginning I was very involved in the development of the software. In fact I and some other users contributed some material and color data that were used in R2 and remain in the current release.
I am also an active participant in the Inventor user community and am a frequent contributor to the autodesk.inventor.support newsgroup. I maintain the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) post that appear two to three times a week. Furthermore I have been involved in the development of some third party applications and enhancement tools. I was recently one of the subjects of an article by John Clauson that appeared in Autodesk's A-Zine magazine. You can view the article here (PDF 2.7 MB).
My formal education is a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical engineer
which I obtained from the University
of Florida in 1997. I have worked in the custom automation industry fro the last 10 years and am the President and co-owner of
RND Automation & Engineering, a major manufacturer of custom automated industrial
equipment. The systems range from semi-automatic operator stations to, material handling cells to robotic case
packing applications. You can view some of work at RND's website.
I received my Florida Professional
Engineering License in July of 2002.
