This is a partial list of the available VBA and Visual Basic routines (nicknamed iCode) that I or others have written for Inventor. There are some really nifty routines listed here. Feel free to send me any additional links or contact me if you would like me to host your modules. Stars () indicate routines that you definitely want to download. Click on the legend below to jump to that section.

     iProperties Wizard v2.0
    by Sean Dotson
"sDotson.com's iProperties Wizard is application that replaces Inventor's standard iProperties dialogue box. It takes this functionality further by allowing the user to define which properties they will be presented. Extraneous properties can be eliminated from the dialogue leaving only those that the user wants to see. sDotson.com's iProperties Wizard takes one more step by offering the user the chance to rename the properties by providing an alias for the property name. This allows the user to, for example, rename Web Link to something a bit more useful such as "Stock Room Location". For downloads and more information see the iPropWiz page.

     Custom Property Copy 3.1 (R6+)
    by Neil Munro
The primary function of CPC is to copy custom properties from your model to custom properties in drawings of the model, and then update the drawing custom properties each time the drawing is activated. Although much of this functionality is available in Autodesk Inventor R6 and later versions, CPC gives you more options and control over the process and has additional tools to help automate your title block data.

     Material & Color Copy
    by Sean Dotson
I created an add-in to copy materials and colors into Part and Assembly files. I created it for in house use but thought it might be useful to others. Hence it may not be 100% bug free It's basically a replacement for the Tools/Organizer that remembers the source file from session to session. It's useful when importing SAT files or for updating old file to your new color schemes. Install the EXE file and then start Inventor. Got to Tools/Material Color Copy/Setup and select your source file (possibly one of your templates). Then when in a part file (or assy) click on the Add Colors or Add Materials buttons. If you need to do more than one file at a time I'd suggest using Kent's batch program.

     AutoSize Template
    by Jørgen Bjørnes
UPDATED: 5/12/03 with Version 1.1 This is a part template file that contains a macro that exports a selected set of physcial sizes of the part to the "Vendor" property. The user can then add this property to their drawing template (parts list) to obtain cut size or purchasing information in the IDW. If the size of the part changes, the parts list info automatically changes accordingly. Includes a help document.

     Hide/Show Features
by Anton van Buiten, Sean Dotson, and Kent Keller
Enables the user to switch individual features on and off. For example the user can turn off all extrusions or all fillets. All Inventor feature types are included. Work geometry is also included and allows oyu to individually control planes, axes and points. Works for part files only.

     Scale Parts
    by Sean Dotson
Scales all parameters of a part by the specified factor. Will not scale tapped holes however.

     Spline from Coordinates
    by AAC Solutions
Creates splines from coordinates imported from Excel (great for cam profiles)

     Path Constraint V1.7
    by Neil Munro
A great assembly utility that allows you drive a part along a 2D or 3D spline. This will be added to Animator in the next release.

     Animator for Inventor v 4.0
by Sean Dotson, Neil Munro, Charles Bliss
This version is from Inventor R6/7/8 only. It is now an add-in and also supports recording AVI files from within the program itself. It's getting rave reviews from the Inventor community. Thanks for all of your compliments. Click on the link to the left to download. If you are still using R5.3 then download Animator v2.5. See the Animator page for more info and to download.

     Positioner
    by Murray Smith
Positions parts within assemblies using x y z or rotations. As an added bonus, it also has a copy option

     Configuartion Manager
    by Sean Dotson
Configuration Manager v1.0 is available for download. This macro is basically an extension of the built in design views found in Inventor. This macro saves and loads configuration files that contain parameter and constraint data for an assembly and allows you to easily show your design in different states. For example if a machine could be shown in the open, closed, loading, clean-out and running states (with a collection of parameters that must change between each state) you can save the values of these parameters in a configuration file and then reload this file at a later date and easily change the required parameters to change the state of the design. This is a first stab at this program and it currently uses separate files for each configuration. Future releases will use one file for all configurations, Be sure to save a copy of your assembly as parameters may not be reset to the correct values in this first release. Try it out and let me know your thoughts and comments.

     COG Plus
    by Neil Munro
Improvements include: - COG tool added to Assembly and Weldment toolbars.
    - Out of date indication when COG part not at assembly COG
    - Auto update mode (some limitations)
    - Improved error handling and help.

     Import/Export Parameters to Excel
    by Anton van Buiten
Allows the user to import and export all parameter names and values to and from Excel. This example could be taken and used to create a more robust method of transfering parameter values.

     Edit Parameters
    by Anton van Buiten
An alternative way of editing parameters in a large dialogue box.

     iTweak V10 (R6/R7/R8/R9/R10) Screenshot
    by Sean Dotson
A small app that allows the users to customoize some of the more hidden aspects of Inventor. Works with R6,R7,R8,R9 & R10. Updated often so check back to get the latest version. Note: This version will not work if your computer is set to use a comma (,) as a decimal (.)!!

     Deluxe Timer Screenshot
    by Sean Dotson
A small timer that allows you to set a reoccuring reminder. Useful for those that have problems rembering to save often. A user set message will pop to the front of your acreen and a ding will sound. Can also be used to keep track of how long you spent on a certian project. Includes a strart, stop, pause and reset button.
